Borrowed from Sea

Not every fantasy portrait has to be loud. Sometimes the most magical stories are the quiet ones. This portrait wasn't about a mermaid swimming through crystal blue water. It was about imagining what happens after the story ends. What happens when someone who belongs to the sea finds themselves somewhere they no longer belong? Every detail was chosen with intention… the weathered clawfoot tub, drifting kelp, scattered shells, barnacles clinging to the iron, sea foam creeping across the floor, a lone seagull watching from the corner, and the endless ocean visible just beyond the window.

The ocean feels still. The room itself doesn't.

That's the tension I wanted these images to hold. Fantasy photography isn't just about costumes or visual effects. It's about building worlds that make people pause and wonder what happened before and what happens next. Sometimes, the strongest stories are the ones left unfinished.
